County Cup Time not Panto Time

Whilst many a person is off to the Christmas panto and settling into festivities there are many massive County Cup games for our ADL sides in December. Last weekend saw 2 of the 5 Cup competitions reach the serious stuff with the other 3 this weekend coming.

Celebrations and congratulations go to 2 of our sides for their Cup run so far. ADL Premier Division Tetsworth has yet to lose this season and they emphatically romped into the Oxon Junior Shield Quarter Finals smashing East Oxford FC 7-1, 6 goals in the first half. Ryan Binnee grabbing a first-half hat-trick plus two assists to help his side through.

Congratulations also to Great Missenden who are into the Semi-Finals of the Wycombe Junior Cup as they knocked out their 2nd higher-ranked opposition defeating Risborough Rangers Development 4-1. Two quality goals from Charlie Brooks, 1 from Mitch Cox and 1 from Tom Francis Gasiorowski. Man of the match performance from Aaron Cox who was outstanding throughout. Prestwood Reserves though missed out as they lost 4-1 at home to Singh Sabha.

ADV Development crashed out of the B&B Junior Cup after finally getting their game on at the 3rd attempt, missing a host of chances first half they lost 4-2 to Hanslope Reserves

In the ADL Reserve Cup 10 man Rivets Reserves put their dismal league form behind them to win their 2nd cup game of the season 5-2 against a lucklustre Ludgershall Reserves. Phil Bartlett with a hat-trick, Ashton Lawler and Veteran Daryl Gearing with yet another goal. In the Thomas Field Shield two sides avoided banana skins as Wendover beat Aylesbury Raiders 3-0, APBS beat FC Bierton 2-0.

Back in League Action Prestwood finally took advantage of APBS cup runs as they beat Ayletico 3-1 to go top of the table. Jason Duncan, James Evans and Jamie Gilbert scoring At the bottom Elmhurst gave themselves a bit of breathing space as they beat Bedgrove Utd 4-0,Akeel Khan end Mohammed Waqar with two goals apiece. Haddenham Utd did the same also as they beat Rivets Sports 2-1.

In Division One everyone bar at the top knows they need to keep winning to stay ahead of unbeaten Great Missenden. Bedgrove Utd Reserves went back top defeating and stopping Tring Corries Development from scoring in a 3-0 away win, Ryan Macdonald (2) and Harrison Grinstead netting. Quainton beat Wendover Reserves 6-1 to have an outside chance. Wingrave made int 3 wins in a row in the league in a 6-3 win over AWFC who cannot turn their Cup wins into league points. The final game saw Harry Gollins score an early penalty for Oving against Ludgershall before an Andrew Chattey volley grabbed the visitors a point in a 1-1 draw.

In Division Two the top two pulled away as Long Marston Reserves lead 3 times over Stone Utd, 3-2 the final score as a last-minute equaliser was chalked off. Jason Fox (2) for Stone.  Tetsworth Reserves beat AFC Berryfields 3-0.

The return of long absentee injured keeper Ben Clarke saw him grab a clean sheet and assist in his first game in over a year. Goals came from Dave Coombes (2) and prolific midfielder Ben Crawford. Thame FC are up to 4th with their 5th win in six games beating Quainton Reserves 6-1. Tony Sandiford with a hat-trick. St Johns have games in hand to catch up the top sides, they had to come from 1-0 down at half time to beat Haddenham Utd Reserves 3-1.
