As we near the last third of the season and the Cups take a back seat, our Three Divisions all have important games as sides look to maintain something to play for.
In the ADL Premier Division, APBS has lead from the start almost and they saw off another rival that were capable of stopping them In Wendover, however, with 15 minutes left defeat seemed probable trailing 2-1 before a late comeback sealed a 4-3 away win to move four points clear. Vinny Iannone, Lewis Creser, Pat Callaghan & Aaron Huddlestone all scoring. Tetsworth seemed their main rival but they dropped two huge points drawing with relegation-threatened Bedgrove Utd. This was Utd’s first point after six straight losses. Rivets Sports are running out of games with just three left and seven points from safety as they were battered 7-1 by Elmhurst; Mohammed Waqar netting 4 times. Ayletico grabbed another point with a 2-2 draw with Haddenham Utd.
In Division One the bets are still open for who will join Great Missenden in promotion. Missenden have a tonne of games in hand and they saw off the side on paper to join them FC Titans 7-3, Charlie Brooks hat-trick Current Leaders Bedgrove Utd Reserves keep doing what they need to albeit they were taken all the way by bottom side Rivets Sports Reserves in a 4-3 away win. Wingrave are on a roll as they beat Stoke Mandeville 4-2 to move to fourth, George Morris with 3 goals for his winning side. FC Bierton have played more games but they romped to a 6-0 win over Wendover Reserves who are looking nervously over their shoulder. Liam Thomas & Rhys Williams with 2 goals each. AWFC look set to push Wendover into the relegation battle as they beat Ludgershall for the second time in two weeks 3-1. Jamie May with another penalty, his 9th goal of the season just a consolation as Mitch Predergast (2) & James Stevens scoring.. Tring Corries Development beat Quainton 7-2, Harry Bennett scoring his 23rd goals of the season with 5 of them. Oving and Aylesbury Raiders drew 2-2 in the final game of the Division; Ricardo Monteiro with a brace for Oving
In Division Two it was a good day for the top two as they both won. Long Marston Reserves saw off Aylesbury Vale 5-1, Thame FC saw off one of their potential promotion rivals AVD Development, Thame 4-0 up at the break almost let it slip 4-3 it ended. Both sides also benefit from Tetsworth Reserves being held to a 2-2 draw by the ever-improving AFC Berryfields. St Johns also lost growing as despite going 4-1 up to Stone Utd the strugglers pulled it back to 4-4, Jason Fox with a hat-trick. Prestwood Reserves have games in hand still and bounced back from a few defeats with a 6-0 win over Ludgershall Reserves who though outplayed gifted three goals early on and three late on. Georg Butler with a treble. Haddenham Utd Reserves grabbed their biggest win for some time 8-1 over Quainton Reserves to move up the table with 7 different scorers. Stoke Mandeville Reserves gabbed a big win two 7-2 over Wingrave Reserves in the days final game; Ryan Whitney & Sam Benwell 2 goals apiece. Adam Mellis, Michael Ford & Ben Oliver the others.
