In form teams march on in the Aylesbury and District League

As the Aylesbury & District League enters month two of the season, the various Cup Competitions start to gear up and the League Tables start to show who will be where come May as the form and ability start to show amongst our sides.

In the Cups, the focus was on the Marsworth Senior Competition. There were no upsets as the big teams generally eased into the next round. Aylesbury Vale Dynamos Development was the only team to go close as they held FC Titans from a division above to a 4-4 draw before losing 4-2 on penalties. APBS romped to a 7-2 win at non-ADL side Tring Town, their continued attempts to pass out from the back costing the as APBS presses high. Ian Pearce with a hat-trick. Stuart Creaser scored 4 as Ayletico grabbed a win with an 8-3 win of Aylesbury Raiders. Haddenham Utd beat Prestwood 3-0, Long Marston keeping a rare clean sheet winning 2-0 over Ley Hill Vets, Taylor Brown and Dave Hedley with their goals.

Elmhurst beat Bedgrove Utd 3-0 in the Thomas Field Shield Mohammed Waqar, Leon Harding Aliyaan Haide. FC Bierton beat Quainton 4-2 in the Sheffield Jackman Cup; Luke Trewavas, Ryan Warren, Dick Healy and Aiden Baily netting.

In the John Father’s Junior Shield Tetsworth won by default after their opposition forfeited.

Back in League action, there was one Premier Division game as Wendover beat Rivets Sports 3-1, Sports have lost every game since the opening game. Callum Thomas, Owen Addison, Tom Newman all scoring. Luke Thirkettle deflecting in his consolation

Great Missenden looks unstoppable in Division One with their fourth win from four with a 3-0 victory over Tring Corries Development. Charlie Brooks, Alex Cairns, and MOTM Karl Lewis. Stoke Mandeville is just two points behind after a 4-1 win over winless AWFC, Mandeville 3-0 up at the break Tom Buchan, George Scott, Martin White and an OG. Bedgrove Utd Reserves won a 9 goal thriller 5-4 at Oving while Wendover Reserves remain unbeaten as they hit sorry Rivets Sports Reserves 8-2. Nick Macmillan with a scrappy hat-trick. The final game saw Wingrave and Ludgershall draw 1-1, Harry Andrews scoring for Luggers, who’s keeper also saved a penalty.

In Division Two, there are a few 100% records. Leaders Aylesbury Vale won again, this time 3-1 away at Ludgershall Reserves. Dave Fountain, Mak Shah and Mahdi Habib scoring. Long Marston is second in goal difference after beating AFC Berryfields 5-1, two penalties not helping their cause. Tetsworth Reserves have a game in hand, they beat Haddenham Reserves 3-0, Jos Miles, David Coombs and Shane Budziszewski netting. St John’s have two games in hand but have won both games, Lewis Hampton scoring all seven goals on his debut as they squashed Quainton Reserves 7-1. Stone Utd’s dropped points as title-chasing rivals Prestwood Reserves beat them 3-2. Ryan Coker (2) and Ali Horner scoring. At the bottom, Stoke Mandeville Reserves are looking for that elusive first win as they lost 3-2 at home to Thame FC
