Running man Andy smashes target for Chilterns MS Centre

Andy Williamson, a Sales Negotiator at Michael Anthony Estate Agents in Aylesbury, recently presented a cheque for over £2500 payable to Chilterns MS Centre after running the London Marathon for the cause.

The blisters have long since gone, as have the aches and pains, but the memories and the generosity of Andy’s supporters have made it all worthwhile. At a recent presentation ceremony, Andy and Senior Partner for Michael Anthony, Mike Donnachie, were delighted to meet patients and the team to present what was raised.  Andy’s financial target was £2000 and he ran the Marathon is an amazing 3hours and 58mins.

Andy undertook many months of training – in all weathers – so he could successfully complete the punishing London Marathon route. In his spare time, he had to fit in his training, and he did this whenever he could. Weekends, Holiday and Days off were all used to help his training.  By day, Andy is a Sales Negotiator in our Aylesbury branch – helping buyers and sellers with their property requirements.

Andy commented at the cheque presentation: “The Marathon was hard work, but ultimately, fantastically rewarding. It’s brilliant to support such an outstanding local cause that makes such a difference to the many patients who visit the centre every day.”

Mike Donnachie added: “We’re so proud of Andy running the Marathon for the Centre. We all got behind him with many fundraising initiatives, and we cheered him every step of the way. What a lifetime achievement! The Chilterns MS Centre does an amazing job and we’re proud to support them again this year.”

The Chilterns MS Centre in Wendover helps people living with multiple sclerosis (MS) to reach their goals. The Centres offer a number of life-changing and supportive therapies and treatments including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and oxygen treatment.  It also offers emotional care and a social community, not only to people living with MS but their carers and families too.  The Centre relies on the generous support of the local community to continue to offer its services free to those affected by MS.
