Stone is a village set close to the Southwestern edge of Aylesbury. Along with the village of Hartwell, Stone is well known as the home of Hartwell House, a Grade I listed Jacobean country house. A Historic House Hotel since 1989, Hartwell House is currently in the tenure of The National Trust.
Local amenities and entertainment
The village offers pub restaurants, local village shop, church and luxury spa facilities at Hartwell House. There are also playing fields, Dinton Cricket Club and due to its location, it is surrounded by the countryside for walks and relaxation.
Schools are easily accessible in the area with Stone Church of England Combined School providing primary education. The village is also served by Aylesbury’s various secondary schools.
Stone has excellent road links to the M40 motorway and Oxford as it is set on the A418. Ideal for commuters, rail links are served by Aylesbury train station as well as Haddenham train station which provide access to both London Marylebone and London Euston. Additionally, bus routes provide easy access to Aylesbury and Oxford.
