Why did you decide on this career path?

I always liked being busy and meeting people and had a fascination with houses.

What job did you do previously?

None.  I started when I left school.  The only other thing I would have liked to try was working in the City in the 80’s.

What’s the best part of your job?

Giving the right advice to sellers to achieve the best price for their homes and finding them the best possible buyer.

What’s the worst part of your job?

Dealing with people who won’t listen to sound professional advice.

What’s the funniest thing that’s ever happened to you as an estate agent?

Doing a viewing when the couple were still in bed!

What are your day to day responsibilities?

Everything… even the washing up!  I never ask anyone to do something that I won’t do myself.  It’s always been my philosophy.

What are the most important qualities to have in your job role?

Loyalty, honesty and integrity.  Also knowing that my actions directly affect everyone I work with and come into contact with.

In your opinion, what is the culture of Michael Anthony Aylesbury?

Treat everyone as you would want to be treated and enjoy what you do.

What is your favourite style of house?

Victorian, character, high ceilings.

What is your favourite quote?

The harder I work, the luckier I become – Lee Treveno (Pro Golfer).

What is the one achievement that you are the most proud of in your life?

My family.

When you have free time, what do you like to do?

I like spend time with my family and walking our dogs.  I also love sailing, skiing, and tinkering with old cars.

If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would it be?

Muhammad Ali.

Tell me something surprising about you that not many people know. 

I’ve been an estate agent in Aylesbury for 41 years!!!  And I still love what I do.
