Watermead is a village development on the north side of Aylesbury. Built in the 1980’s central to the development is an extensive lake that has become a haven for wildlife and wild birds as well as a destination for scenic walks. Watermead was voted one of the country’s top villages of its type in the early 1990s and won awards for its design.
Local amenities and entertainment
Watermead is home to a great number of local amenities such as dentists, local shops, hotel, gym, residential care home and a central piazza. The well-loved, lakeside Watermead Inn is a popular choice for great food and drink and also closeby is The Horse and Jockey which doubles up as a hotel.
There are nurseries, primary and secondary schools all nearby to Watermead. The Elmhurst School provides primary education with a breakfast club. Easy train and bus links to Aylesbury extends the school choices and options.
Watermead has several bus routes that take you from Watermead to Aylesbury town centre in less than half an hour, and from there the railway station in Aylesbury has services to London Marylebone and High Wycombe.
